The HAS-BLED bleeding risk score can be used in clinical practice to easily assess the bleeding risk associated with anticoagulant use in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation. However, even for patients at high risk of bleeding, anticoagulants are not absolutely contraindicated. It is recommended to actively correct modifiable bleeding risk factors when using anticoagulant therapy.
