Ellipsoid Method: Volume of one lobe = 0.523 × Width × Depth × Length
Brunn Method(WHO): Volume of one lobe = 0.479 × Width × Depth × Length
Ellipsoid(Heywood): Volume of one lobe = (π/6) × R × R × Length = (2/3) × S × Length
* 0.523 ≈ π/6, R(cm) = 2 × √(S/π), S(cm²) = Area of th Thyroid ROI
※ โดยทั่วไป Ellipsoid Method ใช้มากที่สุดในการปฏิบัติทางคลินิก

*Width : ความกว้างซ้าย-ขวาของกลีบต่อมไทรอยด์ (Transverse plane)
*Depth : ความหนาหน้า-หลัง[A-P] ของกลีบต่อมไทรอยด์ (Transverse or Longitudinal plane)
*Length : ความยาวตามยาวของกลีบต่อมไทรอยด์ (Longitudinal plane)
